Bonds hits 756 ... finally

At long last Barry breaks Hank Aaron's record. Now we can stop talking about whether BarryBonds "deserves"  the home run record, or whether there should be an asterisk. Actually, I didn't really think about the record when Hammering Hank held it. So I'll go back to that, until someone else starts challenging whatever Bonds' eventual total is.
But next time, I'll excitedly await the record-breaking homer, unlike tonight, when I just happened to catch it live on Sportcenter because Spike was running that crappy reality show instead of CSI:.

Would post something substantive, but it's too freaking hot. Not that that's anything new. I live in Alabama. Hot, muggy, triple-digit heat indeces have a name here: August.

It's a sign of how lazy our news-shapers have become to see national news broadcasts lead their program with "Oppressively Hot: The Movie."

Grow up, people. It's freakin' August. Pour something tasty over ice cubes, take a pair of scissors to your oldest pair of slacks and don't be ashamed to wear the same shirt as that guy on "COPS" last night.
